Middle-Earth are the lands lying east of Belegaer, extending at least as far south and east as Harad and Rhun.
In the First and Second ages, Middle-Earth included Cuivienen and Hildorien, and most likely all the lands north of Beleraind and Eraidor as far as Ekkaia.
Middle-Earth has also been called Endore in Quenya, The Great Lands, The Hither
Lands, and the Hither Shores.
Many exciting and also terrifying things have gone on in these great lands. Luckily
for us Gandalf and his merry band of Hobbits have destroyed the ring, Sauron, and
Smeagol along with it.
